Nissan Leaf Owners Manual | 2025
6.17. Vehicle to load (V2L) system (where fitted)
Using the power of the Li-ion battery, the V2L can be used to power electric equipment such as home appliances or camping equipment.
V2L uses the Vehicle Load Connector (VLC) connected to the charge port. See
The V2L can be used as a power supply for 230 V, maximum loads of 3000 W or 3700 W.
Observe the warning and precautions given in this manual about electric equipment. There is a risk of fire, electric shock, injury or burn.
Do not use damaged equipment and power plugs, or appliances that are flooded or likely to be submerged. There is a risk of fire, electric shock, injury or burn.
When using an electric equipment with ground wire, plug it into an outlet equipped with a ground terminal and connect the ground wire to the ground terminal. If the plug shape of the electric appliance used does not match the plug shape of the outlet on the vehicle side, connect the ground wire using a commercially available conversion adapter.
When using the V2L system while the vehicle is parked, be sure to place the shift button P in the P (Park) position and apply the parking brake in order to prevent unintended vehicle movement.
Do not allow children to touch the V2L system power outlet.
Do not use electric equipment that generate steam in the passenger compartment. Fog may form inside the windows and obstruct your view when driving.

If you use a long extension power cable or power cable reel, the electric appliance may not function properly.
For V2L outside, use electric appliance(s) with a maximum loads of 3000/3700 W or less. Electric appliances exceeding 3000/3700 W may activate the protection function of the V2L system and the V2L system will become unusable.
The following electric appliances may not operate properly at maximum loads of 3000/3700 W or less:
Electric appliances that generate large temporary currents,
Electric appliances that measures data,
Electric appliances that require stable power supply.
When using an electric appliance at the maximum load of 3000/3700 W continuously, the electric appliance may not operate properly. The maximum load may vary depending on the condition of the Li-ion battery.
The V2L system may not work when the temperature of the Li-ion battery is low.
Depending on the connected electric appliance, you may not be able to listen to the radio.
