9.33.1. Operating precautions
Before driving, make sure that the lighting system of the trailer works properly.
Observe the legal maximum speeds for trailer operation.
Do not exceed 100 km/h (62 MPH).
Avoid abrupt starts, accelerations and stops.
Avoid sharp turns and lane changes.
Always drive your vehicle at a moderate speed.
Turn off and do not use the following systems (where fitted) while towing a trailer:
Emergency Lane Assist (ELA) system
Blind Spot Warning (BSW) with Exit Warning system
Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) system
Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) system
ProPILOT Assist system
e-Pedal system
Intelligent Emergency Braking
Intelligent Forward Collision Warning system
Rear Automatic Braking (RAB) system
Follow the trailer manufacturer's instructions.
Choose proper coupling devices (trailer hitch, safety chain, roof carrier, etc.) for your vehicle and trailer. These devices are available from a NISSAN certified electric vehicle dealer where you can also obtain more detailed information about trailer towing.
Never allow the total trailer load (trailer weight plus its cargo weight) to exceed the maximum set for the coupling device. Visit a NISSAN certified electric vehicle dealer for more information.
The trailer must be loaded so that heavy goods are placed over the axle. The maximum allowable vertical load on the trailer hitch must not be exceeded.
Have your vehicle serviced more often than at the intervals specified in a separate maintenance booklet.
Trailer towing requires more energy than under normal circumstances because of a considerable increase in traction power and resistance.
Do not exceed the maximum gross vehicle weight. This is the combined weight of the vehicle, driver, passengers, cargo and load on the towing coupling device (where fitted). You can find the maximum gross vehicle weight on the vehicle identification label (see
