12.15.6.3. Removing tyre

Jacking up vehicle

  • Be sure to read and follow the instructions in this section.

  • DO NOT GET UNDER A VEHICLE THAT IS SUPPORTED BY A JACK.

  • Never use a jack which was not provided with your vehicle.

  • The jack, which is provided with your vehicle, is designed only to lift your vehicle during a tyre change. Do not use the jack provided with your vehicle on other vehicles.

  • Never jack up the vehicle at a location other than the jack-up point that is specified.

  • Never lift the vehicle more than necessary.

  • Never use blocks on or under the jack.

  • Never start or run the EV system while the vehicle is on the jack. The vehicle may move suddenly, and this may cause an accident.

  • Never allow passengers to remain in the vehicle while the tyre is off the ground.

  • Be sure to read the caution label attached to the jack body before using.

  • When jacking up the vehicle, be sure to apply the parking brake.

  1. Remove the plastic cover from the jack-up point by rotating yellow clips.

  2. Place the jack directly under the jack-up point as illustrated so that the top of the jack contacts the vehicle at the jack-up point.

    The jack should be placed on firm level ground.

  3. Align the jack head between the two notches located at the jack-up point of either the front or the rear section.

  4. Fit the groove of the jack head between the notches as shown.

  5. Alloy wheels (where fitted): Alloy wheel bolts have a plastic cap that can be removed using tweezers (where fitted) from the tool kit.

    Loosen each wheel bolt, anticlockwise, one or two turns with the wheel bolt wrench.

    Do not remove the wheel bolts until the tyre is off the ground.

  6. Carefully raise the vehicle until the clearance between the tyre and ground is achieved.

  7. To lift the vehicle, securely hold the jack lever and rod with both hands and turn the jack lever.

Removing tyre

  1. Remove the wheel bolts.

  2. Remove the damaged tyre.

The tyre is heavy. Be sure that your feet are clear from the tyre and use gloves as necessary to avoid injury.
