6.17.1.1. How to use V2L outside

To use V2L, connect the Vehicle Load Connector (VLC) to the charge port.

  1. Make sure the vehicle power switch is turned off, or in the ON position, not in the READY to drive position.

  2. Connect the VLC to the charge port.

  3. Push the V2L button (B) twice consecutively within 3 seconds. The charging status indicator light blinks and the VSP sounds twice when V2L is activated.

    When the power supply is started, the LED indicator (B) on the VLC will illuminate.

  4. Open the power outlet cover (C) of the VLC and plug the power cord of an appliance into the power outlet (D). Close the power outlet cover.

  5. Turn on the switch of the electric appliance.

  6. To turn off the VLC, push the V2L button (A) for longer than 1 second. The VSP sounds twice when the V2L is deactivated. Then pull the VLC to remove it from the charge port. Unplug the power cord of the appliance and close the power outlet cover of the VLC.

  • Never disassemble, repair, modify or paint the VLC. It is recommended that you visit a NISSAN certified electric vehicle dealer if the VLC is damaged.

  • Do no subject the VLC to strong shocks or drops.

  • Do not wash the VLC with water or soak it in any liquids. Do not use the VLC if the product is soaked in any kind of liquids. If water enters inside, fire or electric shock may occur during it’s use that could result in serious injury or death.

  • Do not attach stickers, etc. on the VLC.

  • Keep the VLC out of the reach of children.

  • Prevent dust or other dirt from adhering to the VLC. If it gets dirty, wipe off the dirt with a firmly squeezed cloth and wipe off with a dry cloth.

  • Do not connect the VLC to incompatible vehicles.

    Also, do not connect any non-genuine VLC to the vehicle, including other Nissan models (Micra, etc.)

  • Do not use solvents such a gasoline, acid or alkaline solvents on the VLC.

  • Do not insert sharp metal objects (pins, wires, etc.) into the VLC.

  • Even in fine weather, please use the VLC with the waterproof cover firmly closed.

  • When not in use, store the VLC in a place that is away from moisture and direct sunlight.

  • When the LED indicator of the VLC is illuminated, the 230 V AC power is supplied to the power outlet. Pay attention to the operation of electric appliances that cannot be switched on/off.

  • If the vehicle power switch is turned off while the V2L system is in use, the V2L system remains operational.
