9.13.2. Exit Warning system operation
The Exit Warning system operates under the following conditions:
When the shift position is other than R (Reverse) position.
When the vehicle is stationary.
When the EV system is running or within 3 minutes since the EV system was stopped (if a door is opened and closed, the operation time may be extended).
If the radar sensors detect an approaching vehicle or bicycles from behind that may collide with the door in the detection area, the BSW LED indicator light illuminates.
If the door is then opened, the system chimes (thrice) and both the BSW LED indicator light and the BSW indicator flash.
In addition to the above, the message [Vehicle in blind spot] appears in the vehicle information display.
The BSW LED indicator light and the BSW indicator will continue to flash until the detected vehicle or bicycle, leaves the detection area.
The BSW LED indicator light illuminates for a few seconds when the power switch is placed in the ON position.
The brightness of the BSW LED indicator light is adjusted automatically depending on the brightness of the ambient light.
