9.18.5. IDC system temporarily unavailable
The following are conditions in which the IDC system may be temporarily unavailable.
The IDC system is automatically cancelled under the following conditions. In these cases, no chime will sound and the system cannot be set.
Any door is open.
The driver’s seat belt is unfastened.
The transmission is moved out of the D (Drive) position.
Action to take:
When the conditions listed above are no longer present, the system will resume automatically.
The IDC system is automatically cancelled under the following conditions. In these cases, a chime will sound, a warning message will appear in the vehicle information display, and the system cannot be set.
The ESP system is turned off.
The front radar is impaired due to dirt or an other obstruction blocking the radar sensor.
The front radar signal is temporarily interrupted.
Action to take:
When the conditions listed above are no longer present, turn the IDC system back on to use the system.

When the IDC system is cancelled at a standstill, the electric parking brake is automatically activated.
The IDC system will also be automatically cancelled under the following conditions:
When inclement weather (rain, fog, snow, etc.) blocks the front radar sensor.
When the front radar sensor is covered with dirt or obstructed.
When driving on roads with limited road structures or buildings (e.g. long bridges, deserts, snow fields, driving next to long walls, etc.)
